About
About Ustadi-ai
Ustadi-ai is an AI teaching assistant built for lecturers at Kenyan universities and colleges. It helps you prepare less and teach more: it drafts the work that fills your evenings, from lesson plans to marking schemes, using your own course notes, so you can spend your time with your students.
Who it is for
Lecturers, course leaders, supervisors, and heads of department. Students use it too, inside the class rooms their lecturer sets up; they join with a code and their registration number, with no account to create.
What it does
Prepare
Course outlines, syllabi, semester plans, lesson plans, and lecture notes, drafted from the notes, slides, and past papers you upload.
Assess
CATs, exam papers, MCQs, rubrics, and marking schemes whose marks add up, with moderation checks before the paper goes to your department.
Give feedback
Feedback on student writing and research proposals, one submission at a time or a whole class in one run.
Run your class
A class room your students join with a code, where an AI tutor answers from your materials and coaches them without doing their work, plus quizzes, class chat, and a weekly summary of what the class found hard.
Teach live
Live classes your students join from a laptop or a phone, with attendance taken for you.
There are 21 tools in all. See every tool.
Built for teaching in Kenya
- It works the way Kenyan university courses run: semesters, CATs and final exams, and course and programme learning outcomes.
- It is made for large classes and for students on phones and mobile data.
- You pay in Kenyan shillings by M-Pesa or card, for a month, a semester, or a year, with nothing renewing automatically.
How it works
- Upload your lecture notes, slides, or past papers.
- Pick a tool and say what you need, such as a two-hour lesson on a topic or a 30-mark CAT.
- Ustadi-ai drafts it from your materials and points to the parts of your notes it drew on.
- You review and edit it, then copy it or export it to Word (on Plus and Pro). Nothing goes to students until you decide it should.
The name
Ustadi is Swahili for skill and mastery. Ustadi-ai is a separate product from other organisations that use the word “Ustadi”; our only website is ustadi-ai.com.
